4)      Secretary's Report

5)      Committees:
a)      Agent Orange:  Fred Hagenbeek, Chair:  Fred and Andy LeDuc will be meeting with committee members this month.  Fred had nothing else to report.  A member brought up a discussion on the VA Nehmer Agent Orange Program. 
b)      Benevolence/Cemetery:  Don Sacco, Chair:  No services this morning.  Next month Chapter 17 and Chapter 1076 will conduct the services.  Member stated he hoped to have the DAV Honor Guard at the services on Thursday.
c)      Budget:  David Hugus, Chair: 
(1)Dave reported the transfer of $3,000.00 budgeted for November to April for the Veterans Treatment Court.  Judge Stevens to match by 50% all donations.
(2)Funds are available to fund a second service dog for returning Afghanistan veterans with PTSD. Motion to authorize second service dog made by Don Sacco and seconded by Mitch Roach.  Motion approved by vote of membership.    
d)     Fundraising:  Pat Sakurai, Chair: Per Jack Constantine the preparations for the fundraiser to be held May 22-24 at Von's on Horizon Ridge are complete and he is trying to get a second location for May.  The Committee will be working on fundraisers for July and September.
e)      By-Laws:  David Hugus, Chair:  Negative report.
f)       Gun Shows:  Neil Johnson, Chair:  Neil reported the Chapter collected $195.00 at the gun show held Easter weekend.
g)      Election:  David Hugus, Chair:  Elections held for three Director's positions.  Calvin Haggen elected for a three (3) year term.  Neil Johnson elected for a two (2) year term.  Mitchell Roach elected for a one (1) year term.  Oath of Office administered by President Scaduto.
h)      Historian:  Fred Hagenbeek, Chair: He has started a scrapbook to show the history of Chapter 1076.  He will be sending forms out for member biographies.  He requested any members interested to e-mail him photos.
i)        Membership: Tom Walls, Chair:  Tom Walls absent due to illness.  John Scaduto informed the membership we are currently at 110 members.
j)        Parade:  Eugene Palmer, Chair New chairman and had no report.  Duties as Chairman of Parade Committee explained.
k)      Public Affairs:  Lou Rothenstein, Chair:  Lou stated he needs people to send him information to put into the Newsletter.  Also that the "Boulder City Times" is not getting information on what is happening at the Veterans Cemetery.
l)        Special Events:  Bob Lough, Chair:  Bob absent; no report given.
m)    State Delegate: Daniel Bounds, Chair:  The VVA State meeting will be held in Tonopah, NV, on June 19-20.  The following week will be the Pre-convention in Reno, Nevada.  Bob Lough and Dan Bounds to attend. 


6)      Old Business:
a)      Tracking member's hours.  Sign-in sheet used to track members hours for meetings. 
b)      New meeting location sites. Neil attended meeting at the American Legion.  Smoke eaters not installed and smoke is bad.  Once they are installed on April 18, the site will be re-evaluated.
c)      Emergency Assistance policy.  When an emergency arises for a veteran and funds are needed, the Board will be able to discuss via e-mail or phone to discuss any assistance we can provide.  Any assistance provided will be reported to the membership on a monthly basis.
d)     Discussion on:
i)        Sons of Erin Parade and Festival:  Successful event.  Plan to do it again next year.  Need to get application in earlier next year.
ii)      Veterans Stand-Down:  Chapter 1076 donated $2,000 to support the 2015 Veterans Standdown from U.S. Vets. Chapter 1076 was given a Certificate of Recognition and was recognized as one of the sponsors.
iii)    Fort Irwin Day Trip Saturday 18 April for 50th Vietnam Veterans Commemoration ceremony:  We have 17 members signed up to make the trip to Ft. Irwin for this ceremony.  Departing from the American Legion Post 40 on Van Wagenen Street at 7:30 a.m.  Any other members interested in attending are invited. 
iv)    Chapter/Family Picnic:  Postponed until either October or November.
e)      Reminder of the Pizza party at the Veteran's Home in Boulder City on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Participants to meet at Veterans Home by 1:30 p.m.
f)       New one-page handouts being developed to replace our current flyer.  We have 400 in the file cabinet at the current time.  Paul Scott to produce for free.
g)      NASCAR Tickets:  Chapter 1076 bought 10 tickets to NASCAR race for veterans. 

7)      New Business:
a)      Board of Director's meeting moved to the fourth Thursday of each month at 4:30 p.m.  Meetings open to the membership.
b)      Plans for trip to Mesquite to support "One Hero at a Time" on 18 April 2015.  Chapter 1076 has donated $1500.  Dave Hugus and Robert Lough are attending.  Attendance is open to membership. 
c)      Paul Scott– ICE form for members to fill out and return so the Chapter has information on POC in case of emergency.
d)     President Scaduto informed membership of new khaki summer uniform.
e)      The amount of $90.78 approved by members to reimburse Secretary for office supplies/toner.
f)       Certificate for Samuel Villarreal, VA Southeast Clinic for his assistance to Chapter 1076.

8)      Open Forum:
a)      DAV will have two (2) mobile vehicles around Henderson to assist veterans in filling out forms and helping with the VA.  POC is David Hall, DAV.
b)      MGSGT Sousa has donated a flatbed to Chapter 1076.  We need to find a location to move it to and make improvements to.  U-Haul only sells trucks and they run $3000 with around 200,000 – 300,000 miles.
c)      There are six paraplegic chairs to be donated.  We are a waiting on a call from Nellis AFB to determine when and to whom.
d)     Doug Barron donated $100 to the Chapter Activities Fund.
e)      Yellow Donation Bags – Chapter received 4,000 from Vietnam Veterans of America to be handed out at fundraisers and gun shows.
f)       Don Sacco – In August, the Military Order of the Purple Heart is having a National Conference here and is hosting a golf tournament.  Discussed Chapter sponsoring a golf hole and purchasing advertising in their program.  Golf hole sponsorship is $100; Convention book advertising is $225 for a full page advertisement.  Don Sacco made a motion to support both items.  Motion seconded and passed by vote of membership.
g)      Don Sacco reminded membership of the Chapter Special Activities donation box to fund membership activities.  Money from the winners of 50/50 raffles who wish to donate their winnings back to the Chapter will go into this special fund.  Membership reminded to see Don Sacco in private if they wish to donate their winnings back to the Chapter.  Monthly accounting of funds to be made to membership.
h)      Master Gunnery Sgt. Thomas E Kaiser is going to make a monthly donation of $25.00.  His donations will go into the Special Activities Fund.
i)        Insurance payment for bonding for John Scaduto and Tony Pinkard is due next month in the amount of $187.  Bonding is required due to their responsibility in handling Chapter monies.  They will be bonded for $25,000.  Check to be written and sent to CNA Insurance.
j)        Treasurer Tony Pinkard has received a check in the amount of $230 from VVA National for membership rebate.  Check to be deposited in Chapter 1076 bank account. 

9)      Announcements: 
a)      Chapter 17 mentioned fun shoot at Clark County Shooting Range on the third Saturday of every month at 8:30 a.m.   Chapter 17 is doing a Build-an-AR Class.  Cost for lower part of AR-15 is approximately $140.00.  Members invited to participate. 
b)      Colonel Olds explained his requirements of no facial hair, tattoos or ponytails for members wishing to join him in his participation with Metro Police.
c)      Marty Barrett volunteered his personal truck for use by Chapter 1076.
d)     Members asked to sign get well card for Tom Walls.
e)      John reminded members that they can donate personal items for raffle.  Any money raised from that raffle will be added to the Chapter Activities Fund.

10)  Raffle:
a)      Watch:  $22.00 raised.
b)      50/50:  $145.00 total raised.  $72.50 to the winner.

11)  Salute to the Colors conducted by Paul Scott.
