Announcing the 12th Annual Lakes Memorial Day Ceremony on May 26th, 2014 at 10:00 AM which is held promptly and solemnly at the Lakes South Park 3350 Lake South Drive.  The ceremony is co-sponsored by American Legion "Spirit of Freedom" Nevada Post 76 [www.nvpost76.webs.com] and the Navy Fleet Reserve Association Fabulous Vegas Branch 90 Facilities.  Support provided by The Lakes Association and seating donated by Bright Angel Church of Christ. Many other American Legion Posts and Veteran related groups such as the Gold Star Mothers, the Gold Star wives, and Mrs. Nevada – Global Nations are participating.  Distinguished Guest Speakers include Andrew Lingenfelter, Regional Representative for U.S. Senator Dean Heller (NV); United States Congressman, District 3 The Honorable Joseph Heck; and Maj. Sean Fellows 31st Fighter Wing, Aviano AB, Italy The highlight of the ceremony is the passing of the wreath from the Gold Star representatives to veterans of the war eras, and finally to JROTC Cadet Commanders who place the wreath on the water from a boat.
