VVA Chapter 17 President; Ron Haas, Vietnam Veteran; Susie and Jim Hill,
owners, Rum Runner; Curtis Barker, Vietnam Veteran.

Report: Motion to accept Secretary’s Report
made by Paul Scott and seconded by Richard Walker. Motion to accept passed by membership vote.

Agent
Orange: Agent Orange: Fred Hagenbeek, Chair; Neil Johnson,
Co-Chair; Pat Sakurai; Jim Croft: Neil
Johnson mention the great turnout at State meeting. The Agent Orange Committee will be working
with the State Council to try to get them up-to-date with the programs we have. There will be an Agent Orange presentation
this Saturday in North Las Vegas.
b)
Benevolence/Cemetery: Chair Marty Barrett; Ken Vieth; Tom Walls;
Dixie Thompson: There were six (6)
interments this morning. Four were
Vietnam veterans. Every Thursday morning
Chapter 17 and 1076 get together and conduct services for the indigent,
homeless veterans that are buried who have no known relatives.
c)
Budget: Cal Haggen, Chair; Anthony Pinkard: Cal Haggen explained the new budget for
2016-2017 and how allocations for each category were determined. Dave Hugus questioned the allocation to the
Board of Director’s discretionary fund and made a motion to decrease the Board
of Director’s discretionary fund by $2,000 and transfer that amount of into the
line item for Veterans in Financial Need.
Motion seconded by Bob Lough.
Motion passed by member vote. Motion
made by Richard Walker and seconded by Paul Scott to accept the budget with
changes. Motion passed by member vote.
d)
Fundraising: Jack Constantine, Chair; Daniel Bounds;
Eugene Palmer: Jack Constantine
announced the next fundraiser is scheduled for April 15-17, 2016, at the
Smith’s store on Valle Verde Drive and the Smith’s store on Green Valley
Parkway.
e)
Gun
Shows: Lance Ryness, Chair; Al Lopez;
Fred Hagenbeek: The Gun Show on
March 5-6, 2016 collected over $235.00 in donations. There were two to three people interested in
becoming new members and they have been contacted by Lance. Next gun show is on
June 11-12, 2016.
f)
Election: Don Sacco, Chair; Richard Walker; Jack
Constantine: Members were reminded
of the upcoming election at the Chapter meeting on April 14, 2016. Don Sacco announced the known candidates as
of today: President: Neil Johnson; Vice-President: Bob Lough and
Dan Bounds; Treasurer: Marty Barrett;
Secretary: Tina Sansouci; Sergeant-at-Arms: Paul Scott; Directors: Tom Walls, Dan Bounds,
Lance, Tony. Alternate State Delegate,
Dan Bounds. Bob Lough announced he would
not be at the April election meeting but was still running for Vice-President.

a)
Dedicated
landline/phone and Wi-Fi. (Paul Scott) Chapter 1076 is planning to have their own
landline with Wi-Fi in order to receive messages and contact potential members. The landline will be monitored by the
President, Secretary, and Sergeant-at-Arms.

Business
a)
Veterans
Stand Down March 16-17, 2016: Chapter
1076 is In need of additional volunteers for the Stand Down. A notice is to be mailed out to members.
b)
Trailer
lettering: Marty Barrett has contacted
an individual who has agreed to letter the trailer for free.
9)
Announcements:
a)
On
March 15, 2016, The City of Henderson will be presenting a proclamation for
Vietnam Veterans Day (March 29) at the City Hall. Members are invited to attend.
b)
Chapter
1076 received a Letter of Appreciation from the Department of Veterans Affairs
for our donation of ten (10) cases of water to the Henderson Veteran Center located
at 400 North Stephanie Street, Henderson.

Raffle: Total collected for raffle was
$160.00. The sum of $80.00 went to
raffle winner Richard Walker.
